The highlights from our year at Dream Yacht Charter UK

20th Dec 2018

We’ve had an amazing year here at Dream Yacht Charter UK with so much to celebrate. As we enter 2019 and await some more exciting adventures, we wanted to take a look at our highlights from 2018.

Brand new bases

2018 saw the launch of a number of fantastic new bases, making us the the leading yacht charter company in the world, offering more destinations than anyone else. Our new bases include Nosey Be Marina in Madagascar, Port Roland Marina in Malta,  Göcek D-Marin Marina in Turkey, Robert’s Grove Marina in Belize, Rodney Bay Marina in St. Lucia and Palm Cay Marina in Exumas.

In addition to these new locations, we are also thrilled to announce the relocation of our base in the BVIs to Scrub Island, further cementing our relationship with this amazing destination and helping to support growth in the area.

An ‘Oarsome’ charity partnership

During September, we announced a new partnership with Hampshire based not-for-profit organisation, Oarsome Chance. This amazing charity exist to support local young adults in educational and work development through hands on experience in engineering and support in employability within the marine industry.

Speaking of the new relationship, Oarsome Chance Principal John Gillard said, “We work with highly talented and motivated students who, whilst not thriving academically, engage well in a vocational workshop and outdoor environment, bringing out natural talents that would otherwise be left undiscovered and releasing their hidden potential.”

You can find out more and support the charity by visiting www.oarsomechance.org or you can donate here.

Southampton Boat Show

We had an amazing time at the 50th annual TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show this year, meeting existing and potential new charter customers and yacht owners. In addition, we had the pleasure of a visit from the Grenada Tourism Authority who shared some amazing hints and tips on how to enjoy a yacht charter to Grenada with us and also helped the British Virgin Island Tourist Board launch Soggy Dollar rum in the UK restaurant chain, Turtle Bay. This involved tasting rather a few painkiller cocktails (we’ve had worse days!)

Although the weather wasn’t always on our side, there were plenty of laughs and much enjoyment as our team got together and helped lots of avid sailors and keen yachtsmen and women discover the opportunities they can have on a Dream Yacht Charter.

Beautiful new yachts

We welcomed two new Dufour 382s to our Fleet in Hamble and were thrilled to add +200 new yachts to our bases across all of our destinations during 2018, including boats from Bali and Dufour. These additions brought our total number of yachts to +1000 making us the largest yacht charter company in the world. We look forward to adding even more to our fleet during 2019

The launch of Dream Boat Club

During the Southampton Boat Show, we launched a brand new addition to the Dream family –  the Dream Boat Club. This exciting and innovative concept opens up a range of sailing opportunities for keen sailors offering a whole host of benefits for a monthly membership fee.

Trade your ‘turtles’ for exciting days out on our Zodiac 7 RIB from our base in Hamble or at one of our Boat club bases around the globe, get exclusive discounts on worldwide yacht charters and become part of the best boat club there is.

What’s coming in 2019?

We are always looking at new bases around the globe to add to our portfolio of exciting Dream destinations for our customers to enjoy. So stay tuned in 2019 for more exotic locations. In addition, we’ll be welcoming two new yachts to our fleet here in Hamble – a Dufour 430 GL and a Dufour 460 GL. As well as these, you can enjoy around 250+ new yachts across our bases around the world.

We hope you’ll join us in making 2019 even better than 2018 has been and wish you all a very Merry Christmas from everyone at Dream Yacht Charter UK.
